Get Ready for Fall Planting!

We’ll be swapping out Summer for Fall in October and we wanted to share what we will be growing in our garden beds next season, as the weather finally cools down. Hallelujah! We don’t know about you, but we are so over this heat and ready for a new batch of crops!

Here is what we’re planting at Sow Swell Urban Farm for Fall:

  • Garlic
  • Bunching Onions/Scallions
  • Red/White Onions

  • Broccoli
  • Purple & Green Cabbage
  • Purple, Yellow & White Cauliflower

Cooking Greens:

  • Bok Choi

Once your kale is ready for harvest, a favorite snack is crunchy baked parmesan kale chips! We can’t hardly wait!

  • Swiss Chard
  • Green Curly Kale
  • Dinosaur Kale

Yellow Swiss Chard

Root Vegetables:

  • Colorful/Carnival Carrots

In our last trip to Paris, we saw this gorgeous display of French Breakfast Radishes. Can you think of a more beautiful bounty for breakfast? Me neither.

  • French Breakfast Radishes
  • Watermelon Radishes
  • Red Beets
  • Turnips

Last year we raised watermelon radish. Its name gives away the secret vibrant center, but what a gorgeous contrast between the lime green outer edge and that hot pink center. The colors make me so happy every time I slice into one. We slice them fresh and use as an alternative to chips with hummus or dip.

Snap Peas

Salad Greens:

  • Buttercrunch
  • Romaine
  • Baby Spinach
  • Red/Green Mix
  • Mesclun Mix
  • Arugula

What are you planting next season?  Tell us what makes your garden Swell!

Sow, what do you think?
